Story: The Moonlighter Watch (Extract)
It was Art in the afternoon and Mrs Patel had put a paint tray in the middle of each table. Everyone kept dipping their paint brush into the tray just so that they could show off their moonlighter watches again and again. Lenny didn’t understand why everyone liked the moonlighter watch so much. It was an ugly thing. It was awful and it looked even worse when it was on the hand. The crimson butterfly looked completely wrong against the dial. The shape was all wrong and there were no numbers to tell the time. It was a badly put together mish-mash of the wrong combinations of things and it looked like a big white blob. Just like a big blob from far away. But it stood out and that is why everyone like it and everyone at school was wearing it...
