Famous Queens Class Assembly Script
This class assembly on Famous Queens goes through the main achievements of Boudicca, Maud/Matilda, Queen Elizabeth I, Queen Victoria and Queen Elizabeth II. The script showcases some of the main events of their reigns and how the world changed during that time. As Elizabeth II’s reign was recent, the assembly focuses more on the other queens.
Key Stage: Key Stage 1 but can be adapted for Key Stage 2.

Good morning everyone, and welcome to our assembly. Today, we want to talk to you about famous queens.
Narrator 2
Our country has had monarchs for centuries, but only a few have been queens.
Narrator 3
However, their reigns have been very exciting and full of changes for our country.
Narrator 4
Let us take you back to our first fantastic queen - Boudicca! She ruled around 2,000 years ago and was the queen of the Iceni Tribe.
Narrator 5
Boudicca? What an unusual name!
Narrator 6
Well, as you'll see, she was an unusual lady.
Boudicca enters with a tribe of Iceni warrior
Boudicca
I am Boudicca. I am the queen of the Iceni, and I will NOT let the Romans take my home!
All Warriors
(loudly) They will NEVER take our home!
Warrior 1
But, Boudicca, there are a LOT of them.
Warrior 2
Yes. And there are not that many of us.
Warrior 3
Yes. And they've got lots and lots of swords!
Boudicca
All of that is true, my friends. But fear not! For we are defending our homeland. There may be lots of them, and they may have lots of sharp swords, but we are fighting for our land. ICENI FOREVER!
All Warriors
Yes! They will NOT win! ICENI FOREVER! The crowd charges off to battle.
